An editorial magazine ideated and designed based on a combination of selected keywords. Electric Blue: Japanese Silk celebrates Japanese fashion designers and their use of the colour, electric blue, by displaying various pieces as well as a description of their creative direction.

TYPOGRAPHY
Integrates English editorial headlines with Japanese subtitles and Kanji typography to honour cultural origins. Distressed and oversized title typography is used as expressive graphic elements across the spreads, paired with clean, legible body text. Occasional thematic headings help to maintain the storyline that surrounds the Cyberpunk fantasy.

PRODUCTION
Intentionally formatted at an oversized 9” x 14.5” dimension to create and immersive and impactful physical presence. A semi-glossy finish to ensure deep colours while letting rendered details come through. Silver vinyl on the spine of the magazine introduces a metallic feel, mimicking electronic circuitry. The magazine is bonded using coptic stitching, imitating traditional Japanese Stab Binding. The silver thread compliments the vinyl, unifying the visual language of the magazine.
